Patience is the ability to endure difficult circumstances. The Oxford Dictionary defined it as the capacity to accept or tolerate delays or problems and suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious. Patience is a person’s ability to wait on or to endure something tedious, without getting riled up.
As a Christian, one of the qualities that you should never take likely is Patience. Patients will guide your path in your mission to your vision. The absence of patience will make you imbalance and may likely hinder your progress, success or achievement. For you to be properly strategized in your business dealings and management, you need to be patient because if you have patience your thinking, planning, negotiation and the execution of whatever business deal will put you in total control.
Why do I need Patience?
A simple moment of patience will make you organize yourself properly, understand the situation, and whatever challenges that is on the ground, but when you are impatient; you lose self-control and may make trivial mistakes. To avoid had-I-known, if I had known, the best thing to do is to exercise some patience, take control of the situation and of you.
Impatience has sent several people out of business; little mistakes that could have been controlled by just holding back for a couple of minutes made many Businessmen and women fold up. The price for certain mistakes is unquantifiable; some will many you to have sleepless nights, nightmares, high blood pressure, and unending stress.
Do not rush to act, don’t rush to make the decision. The moment you lose self-control, the enemy shows up in the form of impatience to destroy you and your business but with patience, you will be able to understand the circumstance surrounding the deal; it will make you apply the right wisdom and go for the best because all things work together for your good to those that love God.
Though time is money, do not ruin your project as a result of impatience. We are patient people because we are recreated by a patient God, the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Patience is a major key toward the achievement of good success, the success that is sustainable, the success that never fails, a secured future and a secured wealth.
To avoid self-embarrassment, frustration, and have a joyful and peaceful life in your private life and in your business, you need to work on your patience. You need to get patient out of your spirit, you need to allow patients to manifest in your business. You need to allow patients to manifest in your life.
The word of God says in Galatians 5:22-23, that “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such, there is no law” Long-suffering means Patience. The Living Bible puts it this way: “But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” So every Christian has patience. It is a gift from the Lord. The moment you receive the Holy Spirit after accepting Christ Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour; patience is deposited in your spirit.
Patience is to wait on the Lord
Thus, for every believer, patience means to wait on the Lord, to follow the Leadership of the Spirit, to listen, and to follow the instruction of the Holy Spirit. Man is a Spirit, we function from the Spirit realm, we operate from the Spirit and this is where your faith becomes very vital. Remember, we walk by faith, not by sight.
Faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, though we cannot see it ahead. According to King James Version, „faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
To hope for things not seen, you need patience. Abraham had to wait for several years to receive the Child of the promise. He is well known as the father of faith and can also be called the father of patience. Jacob waited for several years to marry his dreamed wife. It took him 14 years of patience with hard labour to have Rachel as his wife.
Waiting several years to see a Prophecy comes through requires patience. Many have missed their time, goal and some have backed out as a result of impatience. The Bible says in Jonah 2:8 that “They that observe lying vanity shall forsake their own mercy.” Learn to exercise maximum patience in any situation or circumstance and if you do, patients will produce the hope and peace that you required to achieve your set goal in life and your business will do well.
Now because we have Patience deposited in our Spirit, we will be able to achieve our dreams and visions. Though every Christian has patience, there are some that still need to work on it for it to fully manifest in their day to day business activities. Jesus was filled with Patience, and he showed us how to exercise patience so that we do not miss the blessing that has been put in place for us.
Why do you have to wait on the Lord?
The Word of God says in the book of Psalm 27:14 that “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” This is very constructive, and direct instruction. It means that you need to be bold, courageous, steadfast and strong in your faith because “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.” According to the Message “those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind” the Lord will constantly renew your strength, He will keep you revived.”
In Isaiah 40:29 the Word of God says that “He gives power to the faint, and to them that have no might he increases strength.” While many are rushing and falling, while they are being impatient, they stumbled and fell. It does not matter the age, physique, social, economic or political status, when patience is lacking, they will stumble and fall.
But as a product of Grace, our inheritance cannot be denied. It might take some time to get to our set goal(s) but with patience, we will certainly get there and of truth, at the end of the race we would an overcomer; overcoming every challenge as they show up in our mission, our business as well as enjoys love, joy and peace.
Do not give the enemy a chance
Train yourself to be patient, learn to listen and hear from the Lord, learn to do things that are vital, be mindful of the things that you do and avoid rushing. The Word of God says in Psalm 27:14 that “wait on the Lord, be of good courage, wait on the Lord, the Word of God says wait on the Lord.” The Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear:” He is always willing to release what we ask for because He has actually given you all things, but you need the patience to see them manifest in your life and whatever business that you are into.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:8 that “Be not ye, therefore, like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him” God knows everything, He knows your tomorrow, and He has everything in place for you”. No wonder He admonished us not to worry about the future; not of the pertaining to life and godliness because everything that you need has been deposited in your Spirit.
With God “a little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation” He can enlarge your business, he can make you prosper beyond measure:” and He will even hasten it in His time, glory to God forevermore! But for this to happen, you must abide in Christ so that His Word can abide and produce a result in you. That is what He said in the book of John 15:7 that If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
If you abide in Christ, He will abide in you and for His Word to abide in you, it means you will be instructed on what to do and how to do it, while yours is to listen and act accordingly. If you follow his instructions and commandments, you will get whatsoever that you request from the throne of grace.
How to obtain Patience
In John 15:5 Jesus said “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” Abiding in Him will produce Patience in you. The Patience that you need to achieve, succeed, and obtain good and sustainable success in your business and at the same time enjoying peace, and joy.
Blessing comes to those that wait on the Lord, to those that patiently put their faith in the Lord, and to those that put their trust in the Lord. For without Him, we can do nothing. I will therefore admonish you to put your trust in Him. Set your focus on Him. Have your eyes gazed on the Lord. Strive to have divine patience to enable you to run your business properly and achieve greater success, and you will be amazed at how prosperous you will become. “The Lord is good unto them that wait on Him, and to the soul that seeks after him”
